The amount of doors fitted in that way on a site was limited per day by the speed of the installer and the quality varied. Tightening up of the fire regulations has changed all that, as well as the pressure to perform to faster speeds on site and the reducing pool of skilled labour.
A doorset can be produced in a factory in 1 tenth of the time it can on site. A joiner can fit on average 5 times the number of doors in a day compared to making up frames on site. Our machines can chop out all the hinges and lock rebates on a door in less than 2 minutes to a much higher quality than a joiner on a site taking half an hour.
Furthermore, the traditional approach of fitting on site has now become a minefield of sourcing all components compliant with the fire testing certificate of the door, which you ignore at your peril.
